10th Congressional District Congressman Patrick McHenry will be guest speaker on Saturday July 26th at 1PM.

Congressman McHenry will only have a brief few minutes so he will just touch on topics such as the new CBOC in Hickory, the plans for the bigger CBOC for 2010 along with other Veteran issues and topics.

ON FRIDAY 25JULY08 AT 7PM: GRANDE HAIRSTYLIST (bonded and certified) IS TO CUT 4TH DIVISION CHEF-DU-TRAIN JP KELLEY'S HAIR FOR "LOCKS FOR LOVE" IN FULFILLMENT OF PLEDGE TO DO SO IF 4TH DIVISION REACHED 100% MEMBERSHIP.

JP Kelley challenges all Gold Cappers to get their personal Divisions to 100% prior to the Grande Promenade OR be prepared to pull up a chair and join JP Kelley, 4th Division Chef-du-Train and give up their curly locks for charity.

RESOLUTION

To change Membership Criteria

WHEREAS, The Membership of La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux has contuined to decline over the past several years,

and

WHEREAS, The reduction in membership is hindering our ability to maintain our programs as well as our ability to support The American Legion,

and

WHEREAS, La Societe become a fully independent veterans group in 1959,

and

WHEREAS, Broadening La Societe's membership criteria harms no group or person,

and

WHEREAS, This measure does not diminish the ritual, charity, selectivity, or honor at the heart of La Societe,

now therefore be it

RESOLVED, That Article IV Section 1, WHO MAY BECOME MEMBERS ,

be changed to

Membership is open to all American Legion Members and all Honorably Discharged Veterans and all Military Personnel currently serving our country,

and be it futher

RESOLVED, that the Avocat National make all changes necessary to bring the balance of the constitution in agreement with the changes made to Article IV, Section 1.

The above RESOLUTION will be acted upon at our Grand Promenade in July. Each Voiture is asked to present it to their voyageurs, approve or dispprove it and return the results to the Grand Correspondant. Then send a delegate to the Grand Promenade to be held in Hickory, NC, and vote your preference. If a delegate from your Voiture is not present at the Grand Promenade, you will have to abide by the decision of the delegates present. To have your voice heard be sure to send a delegate. 

Question

Can a space on the wed site be set up to report on Voyager & comrads in sickness or distress. This way everyone that checks the site will be able to see who is not doing so well.

Answer

Once this information is posted on the web site it is then public knowlage and would be avabile to anyone who visted the site Voyager and non-Voyager alike. There are many people and family's, for their own private reasons, that do not want this information to be made available to public.

After talking this over with the Grand Chef and out of respect for our Voyagers and their family's the answer is no to posting the information on the website.

However if you know of a Voyager or comrad that is in sickness or distress send the information to the webmaintainer using the site contact page and it will be sent out to the Grand Voiture Information List. This is one of the uses that this list is setup to accomplish.

Please be sure to include all the information, the problem, how to contact them, their Voiture Locale number, and your contact information.
